Report: Thousands of victims of Dutch Catholic Church - 20,000 children abused by clergy

The evil and corrupt nature of the Catholic Church continues to be exposed worldwide.
A special Dutch report has just uncovered that about 20,000 children have been sexually abused by 800 Roman Catholic priests or lay workers in Holland since 1945. The investigation received 1,800 reports of sexual abuse within Dutch Catholic dioceses, congregations and religious orders. At least 105 of the criminal priests are still alive.

"The problem of sexual abuse was known in the orders and dioceses of the Dutch Catholic Church," the inquiry by Wim Deetman, a former Dutch minister, concluded.

Based on a survey of more than 34,000 people, the Deetman report estimated that one in five children in Catholic school institutions between 1945 and 1985 suffered abuse.

This Dutch current affairs programme has uncovered irrefutable evidence of how back in 1958 the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in Netherlands has been informed that innocent children were being physically and sexually abused in its institutions: orphanages and boarding schools. The proof is contained in a letter found in the very archives of the Catholic child protection services. This letter was written by a judge who had warned the board of the child protection services that the catholic clergy were sexually abusing children.

The board took action and sent various letters to the boards of institutions to warn them. The confidential letters mentioned a black list of abusers. But the Vatican hierarchy refused to take steps to stop the systematic abuse.

What is so incredible is that the Catholic Church still has millions of followers and supporters even after all these disclosures of the evil crimes. Why isn't there greater outrage, investigation, and prosecution of not only the perpetrators but those involved with the obvious cover up?

I apparently worked for years just around the corner in this solipsism on the Singel, Amsterdam, so I will never understand this arrangement of this Godawful Universe we have created.
