I made this video to show the workflow of my litle invention, a motion controlled camera jib in 3ds max. It is controlled by joystick and is perfekt for creating realistic camera movements in animations and planing for real life camera movements in film productions and ect..Please leave you opinions about the idea..

  • hahah beautiful :D I'm trying to understand realistic camera movements, would you keyframe the movement manually or animate the camera movement in realtime? Much like recording camera movement? :)

  • Thats the good thing about it. You can do it real time and get full control of your movement. And you can ofcourse do it manualy.

    :)

  • are you using just a maxscript to read the input of the joystick device?

I am planning to make a motion detection system for max with 3 camera's. So if you know some great sites where they learn maxscript,...

  • I made this. no maxscript involved.. its more based on expressions and a litle scripting ofcourse. :)

  • good job!!! this is a good idea.

  • Tnx :)

  • this is what ive always wanted to do! can you help me do this??? i have a joystick but how do you rig it to 3ds max? if you can help that be really helpfull! thanks!!

  • Would you mind doing a small tutorial for this? how do you interact with max through "outside" controls?

  • where can i buy your product and how much does it cost??

  • Yes, I would do the very same! But still, is it available? Or against some payment or as a beta version. I wrote a song and I(actually a friend of mine who has 3dsmax, and me) am working on an opening shoot for a videoclip about my daughter and a firefly in an "Amsterdamish" environment (partially 3d) where I need something that feels more human/interactive than the standard available tools. Sooo ?
