Challenges of the body's response to neurological upheaval in a video poam (product of act of making).

Transformation piece in which X-ray and other scanning processes that access conditions not detectable with the unaided senses have been at work, maybe even contributing to the damage that's been done (much of it during a prevailing season of Neurological Winter).

This video is an example of living with multiple sclerosis through aesthetic expression. This is the first chapter
of a Heat Dozens series in which moments of clarity (remitting periods with residual effects) will emerge.
Other chapters will be posted during a year.

The poses shown in the negative X-ray mode are of the involuntary dance of the body when there's a neurological attack, and were captured by Strexx (see more of Strexx's still visual work at http://www.strexx.com). More of these poses will be seen in both positive and negative forms in video chapters to come.

I have tried to expose some of the aesthetic possibilities embedded within some MS responses. This is one outcome of aesthetic expression in which MS is a collaborator. Without MS, "Heat Dozens" would not exist.

"Heat Dozen's" Sound was composed and performed by Strexx with vocals by forkergirl. You can hear more Strexx at http://www.youtube.com/Strexxaudiolab. Sources of the primary sound around which Strexx based the soundtrack: an Empire toy stove.

This is a video poam chapter of HEAT DOZENS. "Elements of Damage" joins (and is also about a form of "joining") "The Architecture of Simmer" already on the forkergirl channel, and depicts the aftermath of separate events that become linked (more links may experienced at http://forkergirl.typepad.com).

The Empire toy stove becomes deliciously (not just capable of producing something delicious, but becomes delicious itself); the Empire toy stove becomes deliciously sinister, acquires even more attitude just by being used, being cooked on; just by becoming aware of its own heat, just by a heat fusion between the stove and the one using it, the mind itself a similar stove, so there's a merger between these heat producers; the elements —heating elements of the stove, chemical elements, the participants — all forms of elements are subject to damage, to change, to an adapting embrace. That is what emerges as delicious: the heat of adaptive embrace. A form of thermal evolution.

This is adaptation of the body --and a desire to find beauty even in the challenges of MS adjustments.

Some Pain is involved, but that is only a root system, and does not prohibit growth of something that blossoms beautifully above the groundedness of what hurts.
