Kinda symbolic that this was chosen as one of the songs to conclude 'the century of the America' with. Especially since it's about nostalgia to a 'better time' (the 1950s/ Rock 'n' Roll era) and because the USA sank pretty deep after the turn of the century. 9/11, the War On Terror that ensued, the economic crisis, the rise of China and the eventual moral and physical bankruptcy of Neoliberalism. Bye, bye Miss American Pie... the levée is dry.
