Esta canción de Carmin es muy importante ya que la convierte en la primera Mexicana en aparecer en el chart R&B de billboard con un tema en INGLES, llegó al #85 en Marzo 1990.

Carmin was the first Mexican female to make the R&B/HipHop Charts with Playtoy in 1990. This song reached the Hot R&B Singles Charts at #85 in March 1990.

CARMIN ha gozado de un gran éxito en la escena musical mexicana. A mediados de los 80's el grupo CARMIN vendría a formarse con la participación de 4 jovencitas que hacia coros, y ademas tocaban sus propios instrumentos con un estilo llamado TECNOPOP, sin embargo el alma y motor de este grupo siempre fue Gaby Martínez, quien después de colocar varios éxitos en la radio se quedaría con el nombre de CARMIN.

Tras la separación de esta efímera agrupación entonces vendría un periodo de casi un año de intensa preparación, con la experiencia de los creadores de la imagen de Madonna, las coreografías de un experto y una espléndida producción musical CARMIN surge como una artista de proyección internacional.

Su 1er gran paso es su participación en el festival OTI 88 la cual seria repetida en 1989 y el lanzamiento en México y EE UU de su cd titulado un grito (CARMIN III) Etapa en la que se integró ELY GUERRA e IVAN GONZALEZ . Fué invitada también en varias ocasiones al programa musical más importante en ese entonces SIEMPRE EN DOMINGO donde Raúl Velasco le dio la clásica patadita de la suerte.

During the mid 80's the band "Carmin" was made up of four teenage girls who played their own instruments in Mexico's TECHNOPOP scene, however the most important element of the band was Gaby Martinez. After their big radio success with many of their smashing songs, the group broke apart and Gaby kept the name CARMIN. After almost a year of intense work with the image makers of Madonna, expert choreographers and a record breaking musical production, CARMIN was introduced as a solo act with international projection. Her first greatest move was to participate in the OTI 88 and OTI 89 musical festivals and the release of her first album UN GRITO (CARMIN III). During this period CARMIN releases her music video LETS GO DANCE, song that appears in the movie SUMMER EAGLE. Later, comes the production of the song PLAY TOY, appearing and escalating the charts, making CARMIN the first Latin performer to appear on BILLBOARD magazine. CARMIN makes a pause in her career in order to create new musicals arrangements for herself, as well as for other artists, soundtracks and special events. She has shared performances with Rod Stewart, Sting, UV-40, Janet Jackson, Maria Conchita Alonso, Lara y Monarres, among many others. To the day CARMIN is considered one of the most complete musicians/singers. Carmin reappears this 2004 with new image and new album called "back from war" which includes six new songs with electronic and hip hop arrangements plus fourteen of her greatest hits re mastered. "back from war" will no doubt be another great success in her career and should be included in your musical collection.

Ahhh como no, esta la hizo pegar Lujan en una estacion que se llamaba 91X con todo y que Gaby se nos habia ido a Estados Unidos.

Los mas oldies recordamos las noches en SONIDO103FM cuando ella se llevaba sus teclados y cantaban en cabina la noche entera. Que memorias me cae.
