Just some clips thrown together from LBC 97.3. Featuring: Lynne from Forest Gate breaking into song, a caller's voice breaking live on air and much much more... E-mail any clips you spot to clipsmc@googlemail.com ...Pass it on!!
Your best bet is to email Clive at LBC and ask him. But I can recall hearing his 'ramble' as far back as 1984. I've been listening to LBC since 1979, and it's really gone down the shitter since then. Too many take-overs have descimated the good presenters: Ian Lee, Carol McGiffin, Paul Ross. You may be too young to recall Adrian Love, Monty Modlin, and Brian Hayes.
Hi again,It's actually GERRY Dowden, he used to do his 'Country Ramble' show as a recorded section on Clive Bull's late night stint. I've done a search but can't find the name of the song. I remember he came back for a reunion with Clive in the '90s and mentioned the name, but I've forgotten it.
Yes that was him!! It wasn't that long ago though as I was only 8 in 1981 and 11 in 1984. I definitely remember it being much later than that, perhaps 1990-1991. Would love to find out the name of that music! :oD
I used to listen to LBC many years ago when I lived in London. Steve Allen and Clive Bull were the gents late at night (as far as I remember), they used to do a country report in amongst the phone in's and I'm trying to find out what the music they used as the theme tune for those country reports is? Any ideas?!!

You're talking about Jerry Downden I think. I can recall listening to him on Clive Bull's show way back in 1984, when he also did Young London.
Do you remember when Steve Allen used to have a banter with Tommy Boyd before his Monday morning shows? This is circa 1981-82.
