  • Karate: Is for defending yourself out in the world

Taekwondo: Is a sport that will not defend you in the world

  • Okay for all those idiots that think Karate suck.

There is no such thing as the best martial art, just the best fighter! Even if you study the "best" martial art but you do not show any effort, you won't learn.

Karate has good self defense, it's not about who would win in a tournament. It's about who will live/survive in a real fight!! Also Karate is an OLDER martial art than tae kwon do. So think before you say anything.

I use to think that Karate suck but since I started it, it was good!

  • THE REAL WINNER IS TAEKWONDO PLAYER ...........

  • @rimidalvetarak Actually, there are many forms of Karate and those schools which teach Karate from a sports point of view teach the students such techniques and philosophy which will help them during the sport.

I used to fight Taikenkai Karate and that sport karate form had kicks more than it had punches.

When a person refers to a Dobok he generally means a TaeKwonDo dobok. Like when people say TaeKwonDo, they generally mean WTF. Korean martial arts do have Gi like doboks which are opened in the front and worn like a jacket. For example in Hapkido. But I was referring to a Taekwondo Dobok.

If anything is out of context, just message me my comment as I have lost it and can't find it and I typed it long ago.

  • @MynameisAbhaySoni i disagree with what you think a dobok is. I practice Korean martial arts and I have a top that is folded in the front and I have a top that is a v neck long sleeve top. Also head protection is worn and eye protection is opitional.

  • The one with red helmet, regardless whatever Dojo he came from or if he officially learned Karate, what he did in this video is NOT Karate.

The way of Karate is to overcome your opponents' technique with other technique to neutralise it. What he did was "you kick hard I try to kick harder" mentality. That is NOIT karate.

On top of that, Karate hardly ever start with kick.

  • you fools.. you guys dont know what martial art is.. shut the hell up.

  • @bogsangryheart11 ahh, come on, don't hate TKD, but think of it as a helper to JKD. After all, I recall reading somewhere that bruce lee learned certain kicks from a TKD master only to support his leg kicking techniques. Just saying.

  • Cool kick to the face at 1:40

  • @buri2zaemon

Karate is red because he is wearing a Gi not a Dobok. Gi is like a jacket, open all the way in front. Whereas Dobok is like a T-Shirt, closed in front with a V-neck. Gi has broader arms to allow proper punching and Hogu Kumite Karate (Sparring with guards on) always wears a helmet with glass mask to protect face, whereas Tae Kwon Do only has helmet and no glass mask.
