I agree I am not Congolese but black American. African leaders need to take responsibility and stop blaming the white man. It is pathetic and shameful what goes on in many African countries today.

I am Congolese, and thank goodness I was raised in Canada. All of you need to stop bashing the Belgians, because in case you haven't noticed OUR OWN LEADERS have done NOTHING to better our country. When Congo became independent they had infrastructure, and efficient army and everything they needed to become a prosperous nation, but because Belgium had been very slow and Lumumba very quick there was no one able to maintain the lot but the whites. If Lumumba had waited even five years, he would have had trained Congolese officers to replace many whites he would have had Congolese civil servants, etc. Lumumba was a great speaker, but he was no statesman.
