Here is a video radio log of beacon OR on 329 kHz. This beacon has been logged many times since 1992 since I had the DX-380. The signal on this video is very clear, but the rest of the apartment is noisy, so I had to find a sweet spot somewhere on the couch to set the radio while filming the video. This beacon serves Norfolk International Airport on 329 kHz, problem is that some radios have a hard time receiving this beacon cause of AM 1230 the 900 kHz image can be strong on the el cheapo radios. This radio was recommended for chasing this local LW beacon. Best thing to do to DX this beacon is use a loop antenna or a huge long wire while picking this one up.

  • I like this beacon. I live a little west of the airport and I can only hear it early morning from about 5am to 7am on 325khz or so. Even on sideband there is terrible interference from the AM stations as it gets closer to 7am. It is about 6:50am and the beacon is no longer audible. I have sometimes heard it through much later in the morning. How is that radio you have? I have considered getting one. I use the G6 currently and love it but its so small and sensitive.
