this isn't about suicide. and even if it was, quite complaining about suicidal songs, art can not be conditioned by any social considerations.

This song (to me) is about loss, not suicide. Yeah, Anathema has some depressing stuff but don't we all ? I don't give a shit what anyone wants to say about their music or lyrics, they rock and that is all there is to it. Those of you who want to think there is an underlaying message of suicide, well, not much to say other than go ahead and kill yourself. Quit talking about it and enjoy the music or die.

This song is also (but not only) about suicide.. It seems that nowadays, talking about suicide is bad because of the emos. People don't want to be compared to them, so they say "oh no it's far deeper than suicide, this song, you know." I think it's wrong. Anathema WAS also a depressive band (Daniel has confessed it). A Natural Disaster is about suicide, and for me, it's their deepest song. BTW pain and suicide exist since thousand of years, since ancient Greece and even before.

I think it mainly is about shattered relationships and disappointment, but the video does seem to imply the man commits suicide at the end, at least in my view of it. It basically states that the pressure grew too much for him and he released it via suicide, or perhaps just driving away endlessly, which is in itself a sort of suicidal metaphor.

I love the cover art by Travis Smith for this album. What a great idea! So much to interpret from one picture.
