i was ther i live right under Oceana i can just go on top my roof and watch the air show but i like to go to the base to get a better veiw listen i hear AC\DC thunder struck

they never brought fat albert to the charleston show in 2006 i was so looking foward to that rocket asst. takeoff the blues made up for alberts awol tho

Also, the newer C-130Js (that's the C-130 with the six-bladed propellers) do not need JATO bottles... their takeoff performance is much better than the C-130E and C-130H (Fat Albert is actually a C-130T, which I believe is the Navy/Marine's designation for the H-model).

Hurricane Ivan, which destroyed Pensacola in September 2004, was responsible for destroying the stockpile of JATO bottles and the manufacturer that produced them is no longer making them, or is out of the JATO business completely.
