Dentist Glendale CA, Dr. Kamran Sahabi, speaks about periodontal gum abscesses. A periodontal dental abscess is known as an infection of the mouth that can spread to the face, jaw, or throat that begins as a tooth infection or cavity. Dr. Kamran Sahabi mentions that although these infections can be caused by poor dental health and can result from lack of proper and timely dental care, they may also occur in people with underlying medical conditions such as autoimmune disorders and similar conditions or conditions that weaken the immune system. Dental abscesses can also be triggered by minor trauma in the oral cavity. For more information about gum abscesses, visit sedation dentist Glendale CA, Dr. Kamran Sahabi's website today. Dear Dr. Interesting Vid. thanks. In relation to the dangers of spreading infection in you video, I have one question if I may - after an extraction when it's necessary to place a drain or two due to perhaps a large abscess around the affected area, or gum - when should the drains be remove? Roughly how long should the drains stay in? How do we know if/when we can safely remove the drains or decide to replace it with a new drain? Thank you
