Originally shown as a promotional demo at San Diego Comic Con, this "intro" is on the Optimus Prime/Megatron Battle Pack DVD release. It features the original minute long intro that was scrapped in favor of a 30 second one.

I grew up with G1 but to be quite honest, G1 took itself so seriously it came across as a bit cheesy. Animated might look cartoony but the storyline its way better than the original and the series is EASILY the best version of transformers in my opinion. Much has been said about the mouthpiece, but in a way it adds certain personality to the characters. The characters are very memorable and the backstory on Prowl, Optimus, and especially Ratchet is worth seeing. This is how is done. great show.

I remember seeing a bit of this and going, oh, this show will be lame. Watched one episode and couldn't stop watching it. I sat on the couch for 2 and a half days watching it. XD I love TFA, always will.
