I agree 100% Euge, i mean I'm a girl and am Tomboyish and people have said things and made comments about me like im wierd/Stupid for being one But i didn't back down i still my ground and told them off imma be me weather anyone like or not i will continue to be myself and never let people bring me down for their own inconsisticies (hope i spelled it right) anyway thanks for that video and i just wanted to say my piece again Thanks

granted, that is great and all... the problem is when "being yourself" clashes with things like coworkers and certain family members an so on if i was "being myself' things could actually go worse.

@lainnorcal I can agree with this. HOWEVER: this is where you have to be yourself in your head, kinda of. I find that in my own experience (though it's probably not a good thing...) I tend to show different parts of myself depending on where I am. I once drew a picture detailing my mind and how I act to a friend, and they were a bunch of overlapping sectors of responsible me, random me, etc. The real me? the overlap in the middle. If you can't be you to others, just be part of you, I guess...

@lainnorcal Common sense is common sense. In the context of the video, one of these girls "being herself" at work may well, just mean she takes a job as an engineer and does great at it. Because guys like tomboys, she may soon find herself beating them off with a stick. Ironically, her ballee example? I knew an attractive Chinese female Engineer who married (I'm not making this up) a male balay dancer. She asked HIM out. He probably had a great body. She was definitely cute. Curses.

@SakuraBabyful2 If you are straight, you should know, guys are dumb. That sentence will have more meaning over time. Lots of guys are attracted to tomboys, if having guys attracted to you is important to you. People will say mean things, no matter who you are. Hell, they say mean things about supermodels or "successful" people too. Girls that do guy's things are often pretty cool. Anyway, those were the one's interested me, until my current. Glad ur happy in ur skin. Life is too short.

@pokeeuge Definitely a case where language breaks down. Feelings can be deceptive sometimes but over time, one can learn, where one's talents and interests lie. These interests will change over time and in addition, one's self understanding can change over time. In short, we are all doomed to "figure it out" on our own, with others at best providing nice suggestions along the way. Then we die. :(.
