Hi! I take a look at the score and it seems to suggest that Liszt actually intended the opening octaves to be played with the left hand, hence the pedal mark for the following tritones. Otherwise it would be useless. What do you think ?

Liszt is my favorite composer; I recognize the augmented chords, the chromatic harmonies, the mysterious melody in the bass, the tremolos, ... I love every note :)

This piece was just played here in an arrangement for 8 cellos by the Finnish cellist Anssi Karttunen. Do you know what the title of this piece means?

@dbadagna Hello! The title means "disaster" in three languages: Germany, French and Italian.
