On November 11, 1885, North Carolina Baptist John Haymes Mills welcomed nine-year-old Mary Presson to the Thomasville Baptist Orphanage. Mary became the first child ever admitted into care and Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina was born.
Today, Baptist Children's Homes celebrates 125 years of ministry to children and families. We are thankful for the privlege of offering hope and healing to countless boys and girls. We are thankful for North Carolina Baptists, businesses, organizations, and donors who show their love for children in so many amazing ways. Most of all, we are thankful to God who has ever been the heart and center of this ministry, and we praise Him for every life that has been changed.
