In this movie I am weathering a MRL Bulkhead Flat from start to finish, including adding on a load. The freight car which I am using is from Walthers and the Steel load is white polystyrene that we have laying at the club.
I have added on the load to make it look more realistic, and ofcourse changed the couplers to Kadee 58s. The weathering I have split into two videos, one of the car (part 1) and the load (part 2).
This is much more time consuming than just placing the car on the rails, but on my railroad there is always a load which needs to be somewhere else.
I have weathered the load after reading about this in Model Railroader and talking to other members of the club, and to be honest I am very pleased with the result.
The one thing I am missing now, as you will see in the second video, is to figure out something to simulate bands or chains what is used to the load in place. Please give your opinion on what I should use.
I hope you enjoy these two movies and please come back should you have any comments or questions.
Very nice. I added Wood Bundles to one of my Walthers Bulkhead flat cars. They are also good for pulpwood

@bluecoatscheesypoofs Thnaks. thats sounds interesting with the wood bundles. I love that you can basicly put anything on a bulkhead flat car.

Looks great!!!! What kind of glue did you use to glue that match sticks to the car?

I used normal CA glue as it needed to sick, also after I added some moredry pastel on the car-deck.
