  • Thank you all for such generous comments, apologies for not responding earlier.I truly enjoy planted tanks & is still learning loads each day, both from reading & the tanks themselves, if i missed any specific question my apologies but please do send me a message & i`ll try my best to reply.

    Regards

  • Beautiful tank charliechoo, I was wondering if you could discuss your lighting system here. I know you mention 5x54watt t5's, but id like to see what lighting fixtures you are using to cram 5 tubes on top of the 75. I have a 75 gallon just like yours here, and Ive always struggled to get 2+watt/gallon on top of the tank, short of spending hundreds on a Coralife hood or something with metal halide lamps. Thanks, and again, gorgeous tank.

  • @krazymagic Thank sfor your kinfd comments, the lighting has been cut back to 4 x 54 wattsthey are still the same fixtures as when it was 5 x 54, which is the Sunblaster T5 HO strip lights & used to be 2 x 2 per reflector & 1 x 54 on a single reflector

  • nice.. i have 20 gallon planted tank too but the water getting brownish in 5 days after i changed the water... is that normal?? Solution please..

    thx 4 ur reply..,gbu

  • Pikepik, thanks.

It`s hard for me give you a remdy without really knowing the details of your tank, on first guess it could be tannis if you have driftwood in the tank??

  • was your tank ever cloudy with the flourite and for how long please comment back!!??

  • yep was cloudy for several weeks ( maybe 2 or 3), i did not wash mine, after the first 1.5 week i was thinking i did the wrong thing, now i don`t regret it.

  • i hope thats at feeding time, cuz i dont think fish are supposed to act like that normally! =)

  • Hi! I am about to start a planted tank with some shrimp and what not. I was wondering how you would go about cleaning a planted aquarium? I was thinking of hairgrass and moss as carpet. Normal gravel substrate you would use a gravel vac.. so how do you get the fish poop build up out? does it settle into the soil? or does the filter get it out cause it doesnt go anywhere? thanks

  • once that ground cover fills in this tank is going to be ridiculous, good job!

  • Nice song

  • Can you please tell me whats that foreground plant at 2:25?

  • beautiful tank!! i'm thinking of starting a planted 20 gallon tank - what should i buy besides the plants? like, what type of substrate, etc...

  • do the plants divide and multiply?

  • I did some research on pool filter sand. And found out it is safe for freshwater tropical tanks. So, I was wondering if I could put a layer of pool filter sand on the top and a layer of flourite on the bottom. Also I was just wondering how many inches of substrate should be used? Also how much inches of sand (As Top layer) is recomended by you guys?

Sorry for all those questions I'm pretty new to fish tanks

  • So cool...wish I had the time to build a tank like that

  • I like it. Wow your fish seem very hungry. Nice aquascape. Thanks for sharing.

  • @charliechoo since you have an all plant tank ....is it self containing as far as keeping it clean because of the plants?
