How we found our happiness with 2 dogs from Rijeka/Croatia. They come from the Azil "Društvo za zaštitu životinja Rijeka" which is a shelter for abandonded dogs and we love them more than anything! They are the best dogs in the world!

Beautiful video of your furry angels German Shepherds are heaven sent. My first shepherd died of cancer and my husband and I held our Max only 8.5 years old in our our arms as he died peacefully. Thank you for sharing.

I know how you feel at that point. Our german shepherd probably have to be put to sleep soon ):
Pretty much is wrong with her. She's old, walks badly, allergic..
It'll be hard to imagine a life without her, and if it wasn't because I have a dog of my own in my family, I think I would feel extremely lonesome without our GSD..

No, we don't know unfortunaly - in the dutch shelter, they told us that they do this to female dogs when spaying them, but my friend from the croatian shelter told me, that the ear-tip already missed when she arrived there. Unfortunaly, Gita was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma in the muscular tissue of her rib-trunk not too long ago - it was removed, but will very likely return...:-( However, we enjoy every day we still have with her!

Gita lost her brave battle against canine hemangiosarcoma on 8/25 at 4am. She started bleeding heavily from her tumor around 3am that night, so we called the vet... We held her while she got her wings and Otto snuggled up to her.
