Mr. Chesnutt. An open book.
madeyes4u, Mr. Chesnutt is smiling in his grave right now. He bedazzled you with his magic, his wordsmithery. You would have made his day. Words were his playground, and he sure enjoyed playing. The emotive starkness of his guitar contributes to that sense of urgency/importance that the lyrics begin to take you down. But Vic injects that Chesnutt flavored irony in the lyric bringing a bit of levity in a somber tune. Vic's messing with you from beyond the grave.
