  • Hey, I noticed you mentioned that you're from Canada in another video, and you also said OHIP, so i assume you're from Ontario. I am also from Ontario (GTA to be specific) and I am planning to go through this procedure as well. If you're from Ontario, can you give me info on your surgeon because I only know of one at the moment.

  • Hi visualvision, I will probably have to get a jaw surgery and was wondering if you could recommend somebody for the initial consult?

  • Your videos are great:) I'm 17,from england & it's been 4 weeks since my op on both jaws. I've had my braces for 3 years now & knew before I got them on that I would need surgery, so I know how you feel waiting around :P. The first week is the toughest but don't let it get to you cause as soon as it passes every day gets 100x better & is practically pain free!:) I wish you all the best and hope you like the result :)

  • @visualvision thanks so much for all the feedback! very helpful!

  • @visualvision Haha yeah my mouth was a bit messed up :p and yeah i had the same problem...i had braces before in my life, but then when i hit puberty my jaw grew faster than the rest of my body! lol. so yeah, braces and surgery... :p

  • @visualvision I got super lucky with timing. Yep I am in the west end out in Burlington and had my surgery at Credit Valley in Mississauga. Good memory on ya! .... But yeah I'm always in and out Toronto for shopping, clubbing etc.

PS - go easy on the smoothies .. you'll have plenty post op! lol

  • @steenbeanxo wow thats such a long time in braces. I did have braces in the past so maybe if i add up all the time i've been in braces it makes sense. My bite relapsed after the braces 10 years ago, or maybe my jaw grew but I notice when you have braces it feels like forever and once they're off its like a bad memory you never think about lol

  • @Boarder780 wow thats so fast, not even a year in total. I'm so jealous! I'll have my braces for a year when I have the surgery and then at least half a year after. They don't really give me straight answers when i ask how long in total, they sort of avoid that question :(

haha yes smoothies! thats been my diet for the past 8 months and will probably continue to be for a long time. I do live in Toronto, I recall you were saying you lived west of Toronto?

  • @visualvision I started in Oct 2010, surgery was April 2011 and got braces off in Sept 2011. So actually pretty quick turnaround for me. It helped a bit with TMJ but I am still considering a night guard because I grind. Your in Toronto right? Will defs need to celebrate once you get yours! lol just with smoothies though :)

  • @visualvision thankss! and it really is, but i promise you its worth it! and i had my braces on for about 2 1/2 years before my surgery...but that's because my teeth were SO messed up lol! yours already look super straight. and i'm not even sure when i'm getting mine off, it'll be 3 years next month...but i mean, once you go through a procedure like this, braces are like nothing. and honestly, i don't really notice them anymore.. :p
