Everything the pill does and how it works and what the possible side effects are are all on the package. Women are not uninformed.

Oh, and as for the third mechanism, that's only a theory. It's not proven that it does that. (But it's still on the package as a possible effect) Not that every woman necessarily cares. As for myself, a pill working that way wouldn't be a problem but a third line of defense that spares me the trouble and expense of getting an abortion after becoming pregnant.
