Quote From the LFC website http://www.liverpoolfc.tv 15th April 2009

"Thousands of supporters this afternoon turned out to pay their respects to the supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough and now we would like to pay our own special video tribute to the 96 who were lost forever on that tragic day in 1989.
All four stands inside Anfield were filled with fans who wanted to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster in the company of the families, the survivors and the players and staff, past and present.

Kenny Dalglish, John Barnes, Rafael Benitez and Stevie Gerrard were just a few of the household names who stood side by side with supporters on the Kop but today wasn't about legendary managers, famous players or even football in general.

It was about 96 ordinary men, women and children who left home to attend a football match and never returned. "

  • Thanks for posting this video - This is the first tribute I've seen that actually allows you to put a face to the name... it's moved me more than all the others put together.

I don't know what cartoonheadzreturnz said as it's been removed now ... but you look at those faces ... then you scroll down to read filth.

The two do not go hand in hand - seeing as the offending comment has been removed, I'm sure the defence won't mind if theirs are removed too.

    Thanks

  • nonna48 - i agree with you, and i've removed the replies from his comments too.. i posted this hoping people would realise how fragile life is, and hoping people would USE IT!! (Their life) PLEASE IGNORE ANY SPAM COMMENTS from people.. and Don't respond to them..

  • Terrible that so many people perished that day, lives lost, families destroyed loved ones lost so tragically. The blame must be shared equally between the ploice ,the stadium management and the thousands who turned up minutes before kick-off, pissed ticketless and ready to storm leppings lane turnstiles, you should share share off the blame and move on.

  • if liverpool harp on about the 96 all the time why do they always stand up in the kop end and not use the seats provided because at the end of the day terraces caused the accident. terraces was always a diaster waiting to happen also use the seats provided

  • us rangers fans can identify with your sense of loss & pain. on the 2nd of jan 2011 we will be remembering the 66 fans who never came home including nigel pickup 9 yrs old from liverpool who was at his 1rst football game with his grandad,THANK U TO THE LIVERPOOL FANS WHO MADE THE BANNER....united n grief.. TO ABSENT FRIENDS... JUSTICE FOR THE 96

  • @nonna48 Your right nonna48, we can now put faces to the names of the 96...This is my earliest memory of football as a 7 year old, when I was a kid I always watched most of the big games, like big Cup Games, England Games and of Course The Cup Final, this is the first game I distinctly remember watching...I had a panic a few years later at Roker Park, Sunderland, I was on the Fulwell End, S'land scored, and when the crowd surged forward, I got a mouthful of metal from the crush barrier

  • @david123451988 ...you stupid fuck, it does not matter if the supporters stand as the kop will never be over crowded again, so it wont happen, so dont leave stupid ass comments again, and if you have ever been in the kop you woulf know why they stand..... now piss off
