  • Elvis was not happy about having to sing to the dog and continued to be embarrassed by the incident years later. It was something Steve Allen, not Elvis, cooked up and Elvis felt it ridiculed him. The dog peed on the chair, for starters, and Elvis didn't feel right wearing tails!

  • Well, Steve Allen was ... how to say it politely - I can't find words. Elvis didn't like the TV shows I suppose

  • Nice try Allen, but it'll take more than some second rate TV show and a dog in a hat to put a dent in the King's crown!

  • I love the dog. It's just chillin there thinkin' "whatever, where's my dinner".

  • You gotta give the dog some props. Stands there cool as can be on a stage with a live audience and Elvis shouting "You ain't nothin' but a hound dog" to him. He doesn't even flinch. You can tell Elvis liked him too, even if he wasn't too happy with the rest.

  • That´s one lucky hound dog...

  • Im french yeaahhhhhhhh lol j'ai 12 ans et j'adore Elvis Presley beaucoup de français aime Elvis Pressley ouaiiiiiiii mdr

  • =O Poor Elvis. That was probably the most embarrassing thing he ever had to do.

Well i think he thought it was funny but still embarrased, cause it looks like he was tryin not to laugh.

  • Like a rocker Elvis did the worst things, but everyone always tries to exculpate him. He wore tails because he was part of "system". He was a RCA artist. To lay the blame on others is easy. Steve Allen is blamed and Elvis is the saint of the history!.

  • you could tell elvis tried not to laugh

  • @motorecka - I read that Scotty Moore said they were all pissed about this and what Steve Allen had done here.

  • It was Elvis's right to be embarrassed. But the comments about Steve Allen are overly harsh. Allen was a good guy. Unique among adults at the time, he gave air time to rockers and jazz greats like Miles Davis. In those days, TV was king, and Allen was just trying to be funny in a visual medium. It was a rare misstep for a great, talented guy. By the way, Allen's career did not fizzle. In fact, unlike Elvis, he had a stable and wonderful family life and lived well into his golden years.

  • years later elvis hated how they made him sing to a dog i was born in 1975 and have been a fan for 23 years i would have given any thing to have been around in those days RIP our beloved elvis u still remain in our hearts

  • Dios como pusieron a Elvis a hacer el ridiculo en ese programa ese Allen debe de estar ardiendo
