Here we are again with something Broadway-related!

This time it's a wonderful little parody song on "The Girl from Ipanema" from the Off-Broadway-Comedy-Revue-Thingy called "The Mad Show".
Music by Mary Rodgers, daughter to Richard Rodgers of course, and wonderfully tricky lyrics by Esteban Ria Nido.

The song was originally performed by Linda Lavin, then in a (sorry Linda!) much better version by Milicent Martin in "Side by Side by Sondheim" and finally, the best version so far by Joanna Gleason in the 12 hour live concert "Wall to Wall... Stephen Sondheim" - which actually is the version that made me do this song on my own. So hate-mail goes to Ms. Gleason, of course.

I recorded this song (and another Sondheim-Song, which I'll upload later this week) late, late night, 'round 3 o'clock I'd say...

As always, leave comments, bla bla.
Luvs and stuffs.

  • awwww

  • @fkd1963 Somehow I have the feeling that the punchline does not work so well if this song is sung by a guy... xD

  • Never thought a guy could sing this but I guess I was wrong.

  • goes German a wee bit with your glottal work....but i like it :)

  • Good job!

  • @xxJonathanOMalleyxx you have a point. although the delivery of the whole song is as important as the 'punch' line
