can medical students in the US give complete confidentiality? Here in the UK you have to give give any relevant information to the rest of the medical team
Hello guys, I'm a med student and this is a really great full neuro exam to watch, and although I understand this is really superb enactment of symptoms and signs, I am a bit confused about spinal accessory nerve testing. Pt could not turn her head to LEFT against the resistance. In case of real RIGHT sided hemiparesis/hemiplesia, wouldn't you feel expect the opposite due to weakened RIGHT side SCM? (pt already showed weakend shrugging on right side) Please feel free to correct me.

@horsepower735 Thanks for your comment. You may want to take a second look. You're right on that the patient would have trouble turning her head to the left against resistance due to her right sided hemiparesis (CN XI innervating the right SCM). However (and it's easy to miss this) that's actually what you're seeing in this video. Inability to passively RESIST pressure towards the right (as seen in the video) is equivalent to inability to actively TURN towards the left (as you describe).
