  • I'm a newb... So what exactly does rooting do? Basically just like jailbreaking an iPhone? Is there an app for downloading all the apps in the market for free?

  • will this work with the a100(

  • @mistklmon Gives you "root access," meaning you (and apps) can access parts of the OS that are typically locked. The main reason to root is for custom ROMs (i.e. CyanogenMOD) which add to Android's features, but you can also use it to overclock and improve performance, back up and restore settings, etc. Truth is, if you don't know why, you probably shouldn't, but look into it. It might appeal to you.

  • @BlinkPhaseVideos does this work rooting method work for the Acer Iconia A100?

  • does it work for a100?

  • Another thing is that after downloading the gingerbreak.apk v1.20 the 2nd try it says it's not able to open the file.

  • This gingerbreak version 1.20 does not work, it has been rooting for over an hour and it just does not go any where, it just stays in rooting.

  • I have downmloaded the gingerbreak apk version 1.20 and it has been rooting for 15 minutes now and still running. Is it really suppose to run this long on a first time rooting my Acer A500?

Please email me and let me know , thanks. sonyman040630@yahoo.com

  • it says cannot open file please reply

  • @BlinkPhaseVideos hes jealous man, southern hospitality
