Rabbani on RT: Last TV talk before brutal death

Days before he was brutally killed, Former Afghan President and head of the High Peace Council Burhanuddin Rabbani told RT's sister channel Russia Al Youm that despite the difficulties, he had high hopes for the peace process in his country. President Rabbani led Afghanistan during the 1990s. Most recently, he ran the country's peace council, attempting to negotiate a political solution between the government and the Taliban. The High Peace Council was intended to open a dialogue with insurgents who had been trying to bring down his government since the US-led invasion overthrew their regime in late 2001. It was inaugurated in 2010, amid mounting reports of secret peace talks with Taliban leaders and key insurgent groups. Delivering his acceptance speech, Rabbani said he was "confident" that peace was possible -- and he continued to believe and work towards achieving that peace until the end.

I know Karzai is a puppet, that is a fact. But it is also a fact that Rabbani is evil like Hekmatyar, Ahmaq shah Massoud, Qulbudin, Dostum etc. These are the evils of our country! We must kill them. @Sh012222 Yes, they were bogged down in Afghanistan because of their own choosing. The Talibans are supported by pakistanis and some other Islamic group in the region. The West are waging a non-conventional warfare and they have to protect the lives of the innocents where the Taliban dwells. Its easy to carpet bomb them but it has a price which the West cannot accept. Its not the superiority of the Taliban religion but the superiority of the Western moral obligation for Afghan people.

@philipdcrusader My country never suppose to become Islamic. The Quran is not even written in our language, most of us don't know what is written in it, it's Arabic. They just brain washed people from villages that were uneducated that this is their culture and etc. But Nato make mistake by trying to help them become democratic country first my people need to learn what is human rights and etc. And that need to be done by forcing them (law) so Afg should have Non Islamic dictatorship gov't.
