@thecoolestdad Of course he was the greatest drummer in rock. He invented heavy rock drumming and caused his band to invent heavy rock, ipso facto he invented heavy rock! Some came after him with a broader skill base, but none of them came close to matching the sheer excitement he generated every time he sat at the drumkit. To this day I get shivers whenever I put on a Who album and the crack of his sticks meets the skins. His gift to the world will always live on. @toallofus no matter what
I wouldn't say the greatest drummer in rock, but just a very good influence on young drummers like myself in the 70's.His style has been incorporated into probably every drummer in rock whether it be a big degree or a little.I find myself even to this day as I play, doing some things that I saw Keith do.No drummer of this generation can touch Moonie;styles changeand now everybody says Neil Peart or Mike Portnoy, but I say take bits & pieces from all drummers and formulate your own style.I did.
Only two weeks of withdrawal in a hospital?! What good would that do?
I remember how Alice tried to quit by going to an asylum. It is shocking there seemed o be no other help at that time for an addict.

Larry Hagman's imitation of Keith Moon is excellent, and really funny.
