Summer Huntington demos how to use a 5lb clubbell (devoloped by Scott Sonnon) in Vinyasa yoga. Great for building inner core strength, coordination and improving muscle imbalance.
Sequence: Single clubbell rock it into high lunge with flag position, warrior 1 with torch position, warrior 2 with flag position and switch, triangle with modified vertical torch, straddle stance with torch, pyramid with bind. Try it yourself!

  • One of the weaknesses I've noticed in yoga classes, especially with beginning students, is them holding up their arms in alignment without continuously dropping them and shaking them out during various standing poses (especially Warrior 2) because of general lack of arm strength. The inclusion of 5# clubs is going to help sufficiently in developing stronger poses. Great stuff here. As both a CST and a yoga practitioner, I will enjoy exploring the merging of clubs and asana!
