I love sparks as any other fan, but some indie bands such as Grizzly Bear or Animal Collective are very very good in my book.

Not necessarily the same style but certainly fitting the adjectives you mentioned.

What more needs to be added? Sparks is brilliant, original and timeless. It is an absolute mystery (Those Mysteries) that they are not in the R&R Hall of Fame.
