This is a short video of a visit by one of two remaining and flying Howard 500 twin executive aircraft. It was built in the 1960's and is a facinating aircraft to view. The sound of the engines almost sounds like a B-17 since they are 2,500 hp each.
A far cry from the sound of a B-17 since the Flying Fortress has the Wright-Cyclone R-1820's. The Howard has R-2800/CB-17's with two-stage superchargers and water injection. 35,000 pound airplane that has no equal..
Beautiful aircraft terrible colour scheme !

Many years ago I had the awesome pleasure of taking personal care of
Howard N65PC, and one day, handling her controls inflight. I'd trade 8000
hours of 767 time to fly it just once more. What an incredible machine.
