Hahahahah people walking away lol. But what Dan is saying is true, Christians ignore a thousand other things that modern people and they themselves would not agree with that Bible says is right but when they criticize homosexuality bible is suddenly the go-to document

    Ultimately... Dan's a radical.

We're discussing him and his message here.

As far as I can gather; the fact that we're doing that points to mission accomplished for his part.

So the minute someone actually calls them out on their shit, something that they have been ignoring for centuries, they walk out instead of at least attempting to gain some credibility by listening? Savage could have formulated his arguments more appropriately, but what he says is the truth.

If he was using forced hypocrisy then that's alot more understandable. It also explains why he'd call them pansy asses even though he's gay, though it could also just be an excuse to avoid the hate he'd get. I don't know enough about the guy to say either or for sure.

And that is a good point about them being journalists. I hadn't thought about that.

Christians always want the Bible to be taught in schools, and Dan starts to teach what's in the Bible and they leave!!!

Yes, Dan comes off as an ass. He's doing exactly what xtians do to homosexuals...using the same book, and language.

Sadly... most don't get that he's using forced hypocrisy for effect.

Most just key on the hypocrisy.

FYI: Journalism students don't debate what they're reporting on. They don't walk out either. They listen to and report the facts. (Of course they'll bias their written/published article as they see fit.)

The thing is this: you can always come up with some excuse for not listening to the other side. You'll say things like "I'm very open minded, but this particular atheist/Muslim/Socialist is too preachy/ranting/dishonest so I'm not going to listen". That's what you (and I) have to be careful about.

Oh please. Atheists are forced to hear religious rants repeated their entire lives, but instead of the Dan's message, "we ignore many parts of the Bible, we can ignore the gay parts" it's closer to "believe what I'm saying or you'll burn alive forever". Whatever his tone, if they'd listened, his critique wasn't personal.

Truth is, Christians are a privileged majority. They can live entirely isolated from criticism without kid gloves, and for that reason tend to be much thinner-skinned.
