SONAR 8 - HOW TO CREATE SONGS FROM START TO FINISH

This tutorial is for all comers, new and experienced. I'm an advocate for Sonar, because it is extremely user friendly and you can get everything you need done in one program. Cakewalk support is great as well. Also the Sonar forum is pretty good if you ever get caught in a bind.

The main purpose is to take you through the steps of completing an entire song. If you're in the market for a new DAW and you're considering Sonar, then take a look at this series and it will help you get started.

I am by no means a professional or a teacher, but I figured that I do have something to add since I've been on Sonar for about 3 years. I'm also a pretty good producer, songwriter, and singer. I hope you enjoy.

  • How did you get velocity soft synth

  • @DiskonectedMusic how about Cubase? Lots of really good artists use that aswell.

  • step sequencer sucks i use cyclone for drum controled by mpc, also when i sample or sampling i use loop construction for advance tweak.. see my video Always Be My Baby [Samping Tutorial] for more info. nice tutorial very informative i've watched some of your video it really gives youtube viewer to better understand the power and simplicity of sonar 8. Now cakewalk you owe me for this advertisement lol. keep it bangin, let the music be played by us not the music playin tricks on us

  • @DiskonectedMusic i also have experience in pro tools, a diploma to be precise within the field of editing sound for video.

i have since used all daws in depth and the only ones worth touching are ableton, reason,,audacity, reaper, cubase and digital performer.i am only new to sonar however i can safely say that the user interfaces in both logic and protools are detrimental to the workflow.

ableton and cubase seemingly have the best flow with special attention to ableton. ableton ftw

  • Hi maskerade, thanks for doing that. People don't realize how important is to share what we know, having a sense of fellowship and helping each other. I'm sure you've helped many ones. Don't worry about ungrateful criticism. It's the human nature. But here you are to prove the contrary.

    Bless

  • @maskerade45 Four words-

    Pro tools = Industry standard.....

  • I used Pro Tools for years. One word, whack... So many better alternatives than Pro Tools. Why do you think there are so many DAW's out there.

    Nice try though, lol.
