Yes, Anna Moffo's rendition of this exquisite and haunting version of Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 is wonderful. But for me, no one sang it better (and, I doubt, ever will) than Bidu Sayao, whose version is not only hauntingly beautiful, but offers an even quieter intimacy that seems so right. It is, simply, incomparable. Give it a listen; you may agree.

For me she is perfect for this - like the Rachmoninov 'Vocalise' it cries out for a beautiful sex-laden voice with great colour & control and boy she can nail a note even mezza voce.
