@Cefn No obviously not, this was a pre-race run, done the day before the race at a very relax pace with a couple of 1'-2' intervals to refresh the legs. 17km/h is the avg speed of the winner of the World championship.

@malec111 but this was not a race run? just a warmup? theres no way that averages at 17kmph, maybe on race day but this is clearly not on race day

@Cefn The average speed of the winner was 17km/h. It is one of the toughest course in the world.

Like the guy said, it's the day before the race. Of course he's taking it slow in some of the technical sections. Probably looking for the best lines, analyzing the course, etc...Also, no reason to risk injury by going hard a day before the race.

@mrrogersbloodstained i just watched again it is painfully slow and im comparing that to my own xc capers, not videos of downhillers.

@Cefn It's not really that painfully slow, its just that most mtb vids on youtube are people downhilling at like 25 mph

@startloop some places, but others it looks like it would be more beneficial to pick up speed. But of course i don't race, so it might be a common race strategy.

@WestPennHunter This track is full of very steep climbs. I wasn't pushing hard at some places, as this was the day before the race.
