I love this movie! Wonderful songs and unforgettable Fred Astaire:)

An incredible opening credit sequence when you realize what was involved in filming it. And Petula, clear as a bell. Just wonderful.

Time has been kind to this movie. When it came out musicals were going out of style, and many felt Astaire was too old for the role, the story was outdated, and Tommy Steele's antics were overdone. But Petula Clark won much praise and looks even better today. Coppola wanted a realistic style which was at odds with the fairy-tale story, but it manages to work. One of the last gasps of the Hollywood musical machine, felt by many to be underrated.

One of my all time favorites! Great music and a wonderful cast to boot. How are things in Glocca Morra is a classic, seems odd that Burton Lane came up with that name in a dummy title for the song. It was to be " There's a Glen in Glocca Morra" E. Y,. Harburg then changed to to " How are things in Glocca Morra" the rest is history! thanks for a great posting!

This is a wonderful song. Wonderful melody, sweet lyrics, but it's the quality of Petula's voice that is just astounding to me. Pitch perfect clear, perfect inflections.. Just lovely. I cry ever time I hear this. It touches my heart ♥
