@okyoureanut i meant to say narrow fog. and no im not kidding about never using vertical ventilation. it just wasnt in our sops in charleston. ida liked to have tried it at least once though. maybe ida liked it. stay safe.

@93CFD Cool with a fog pattern? Never used vertical ventilation? You're kidding right?

Id be bringing Hot Dogs to work...I know it !

@MrChucktbags it was just a statement... grow some skin bro...

@93CFD If your not there then dont bash their tactics. These guys know exactly what to do because their trained professionals! Truck companies know their roofs and building construction like the back of their hand... They can tell when it's time to get off. Taking risks is part of the job, you sign up to protect life and property. Im lucky that Ive been trained by an agressive dept that likes to go in and fight like were supposed to, not sit back and watch it burn.

@dayton925 i guess you sure told me...

The reason why we are the best is because of our tactical training, we know roofs better than anyone. It's humorous to listen to some of you talk as though you know something. I always hear these country bumpkins talk about how many firefighters we injure or kill. One this usually coming from a guy on a one station volunteer department. You are talking about a 4000 man department that has only lost 65 firefighters in 125 years. Go back to your poker games you Boy Rangers!

Cfd? Where is that anyway? Full fog pattern in a fully involved structure fire with no ventilation? I don't know what your protocols are but you might want to do a little research on them. I would think that with 15yrs in the fire service you would have learned not to bad mouth other depts. Strategies, rather than learn from them. Especially a dept. Like LAFD. Possibly the BEST fire tactics in the nation. They probably fight more fire in a tour than you have in your 15 yr. Career. Danger is a

@xFreakPyromaniacx true fuckin story
The only reason why this building is venting fire so well is because these fire fighters made the ventilation holes manually. The fire did not "SELF VENTILATE." In LAFD, self venitilate means that the FIRE burned through the roof decking and venitilated vertically WITHOUT the aid of trained and experienced firefighters. A day in the T.V. chair adds more risk to our job. Stay safe and walk roofs daily!! TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN.
