Here's a brief interview with Ron Paul in 1988 when he ran for president on the Libertarian ticket. Whatever you think of his opinions, the man is consistent (save for his change of heart regarding the death penalty -- a good change, methinks). Pay particular attention to his take on the Soviet Union. He was proven right on that one.

Shocks me that I never knew he existed before the last couple of years.

God I wish we had THIS Ron Paul today. The message is the same, but he was so much smoother at delivering it back then. This is a Ron Paul that would mop the floor with the slick neocons they have sharing the stage with him now... It's ashame they didn't let his voice be heard back then. I'm glad that his views on the death penalty have changed now (and he admits this is one area that he has changed his mind on... I'm totally fine with someone changing their mind over 30 years btw, lol)

Most consistent politician of modern times. I agree with so much of what he stands for, such a sad situation how he was screwed out of the presidency.

nah i think you may be looking at it from a rather constricted perspective, because i think if we reform the criminal justice rules so that people like trial lawyers and people who make false claims would have to pay for their false accusations dearly when they lose, and that absolute evidence is necessary for one to recieve punishment, then i think this ultimate justice will work wonderfully, i think the criminals will live in fear of justice when that day comes, instead of now,its much better

CONT. as the criminal utilized those tools to execute his monstrosity, and someone who raped someone should get castrated, and a murdered should get the death penalty, but in the most gruesome way like running a chainsaw through his body while he/she is alive. i truly believe this would be the most effective way to deter these crimes among these degenerates because it will instill a supreme real fear into them, that they would have to pay for their actions, converse to us payng taxes for them

i'm libertarian and i support the death penalty, and i don't understand why anyone but a christian theocrat would be against it, i believe real criminals who've actually instigated physical harm to another person(e.g., rape, murder, mutilation) should be forced to pay the ultimate price, and eye for an eye PLUS INTEREST on the crime, because it's not simply fair that say someone get's their eye stabbed, that the criminal only get's his eye stabbed, he should also lose both his arms and legs CONT

2:20 $240billion a year! That's it! haha. I heard that and my jaw dropped. I would love for it to at least be at that level now. Today it's over a trillion a year! Holy crap!

our dollar will crash no matter who wins this November. we have nearly 90 trillions of unfunded liabilities, real unemployment rate is around 15 percent. My guess is Obama will take us to war with Iran to reduce unemployment rate.

I think America has lost its chance, he is getting old, he is in his 80's now, and not to mention ran for president three times. America has blown it, we had our chance, no, three of them, but we just pushed him to the side saying he is a joke. And we are paying for it every second he is not president of the united states. We are sorry Ron Paul, hopefully there will be someone like you in the future, but we will probably just push them of to the side to.
