Activists in New York City took advantage of the President's Day holiday (and the fact that the Canadian consulate was open) to protest against Canada's continued slaughtering of harp seals on the ice floes of Canada.
Canada, your traditions are sickening - you've blood on your hands, and this sick bloodbath needs to end. Beating and clubbing seals, staining the ice floes bright red, skinning alive and leaving thousands of mutilated carcasses steaming and freezing on the ice - this is just disgusting, cruel and wrong.
Daniel Sullivan, Consul General, stop the seal hunt! Activists will never back down until this killing for fur and vanity stops!
The rich and stupid do NOT need new fur coats - Canada, this killing must end!
I agree that many protesters are just repeating what they hear from organizations like PETA. A lot of them don't even have the proper information. They say they don't want to offend this 'tradition' but they really just want to keep their money. The commercial seal hunt should be banned. Also, white coats aren't allowed to be killed, the way they kill the seals has also been proved humane and people are being misinformed. It's still ridiculous to kill these animals for fashion though. So stupid.

Only an asshole would club an innocent baby seal. No animal deserves to die for the selfishness of the human race. We aren't cavemen anymore

Take a look at the video SEALERS ASSAULT SEA SHEPHERD CREW
Where's the rational discussion there?
These are the people we're suppose to believe no longer use clubs? These are sealers who "humanely" kill the seals?
This is supposedly civilized behavior?
Seems like your buddy in the video did a good job of "arousing prejudice among the public " all by himself.
Maybe you ought to talk to him instead of me.

You are a savage (see posts below to support this statement) and a PETA puppet. My, a PETA puppet sounds like somthing you can pop onto the micowave and heat up for lunch.

Got you, That's your best post yet. No cursing, name calling, ranting or raving. That proves my point that when PETA and groups like yours CANNOT, in a rational manner, support what they are doing they resort to a from of propaganda called name calling. It is the use of derogatory language or words that carry a negative connotation. It attempts to arouse prejudice among the public by labeling the target something that the public dislikes. So, my friend, you have been hooked again.

"We" Romi? Did you have help with your emails?
It all boils down to one thing. You kill defenseless animals and hide behind the claim of tradition. An educated person will do everything in their power to reduce suffering of any kind.
The seal slaughter is barbaric and unnecessary. Each day more people are being educated on this issue. The EU already passed the ban on seal fur (guess the world was watching after all, eh?).

Your getting better, at least you didn't use inapprobriate language. Your being played like a salmon. Can't you see that!! As a member of PETA your are programmed to respond but not think or analize. You are their puppet, to bad. You provided an excellent demonstration for my environmental ethics class. Thanks for you participation. We will leave you alone now.

My bad, what is your colloquialism for an uneducated yokel?
What thinking have you done? Let's see..."grandpa used to kill defenseless animals for a living so.....um, I guess I'll do the same exact thing for a living....because it's tradition."
Does that sum up your thought process, more or less?

Thinking is the first step towards action. You have all the makings of a savage. Equating humans to animals, ranting and raving, name calling. What 's a redneck, some kind of duck? We have mergansers here, they have a red nape but we don't refer to them as rednecks We have ringnecks
