God Bless Him and his decendants. The many stories in his life must be very fascinating to hear. When I say my prayers, I give thanks to all Ancestors who paved the way for me if they were slaves or not. It's also great to see that he has such respectful and loving offspring.

@blangear,Since he was black,he experienced the Jim Crow laws throughout his youth and I wouldn't be surprised of he saw someone he loved or cared about got lynched by an angry white mob.

@marksjohnson5 lol when he first got into the hospital he was pissed off cuz the food wasnt like the food at home. Everytime he came to family get togethers he would eat as much as he could. :D

Yes, I just heard the news today from his Granddaughter. He died yesterday, December 27, 2008. May he rest in peace.

He was 106 when I took these videos, so of course he looks older now. But like you, I was amazed at how young he looked, and how he was able to scarf down beef ribs. Thanks for your comment.

Are you having a party for him today? I saw Althea (his daughter in this movie) last week and she mentioned that they would be up in Sacramento today (the 7th).
