Blind Pit Crew Chief

This segment chronicles a day-in-the-life of a blind pit crew chief named Jay Blake. When I first read his story, I was moved by his indomitable spirit, but it wasn't until I met Jay Blake in person that I realized how his positive attitude inspires so many to "follow their dream." We all face certain trials in life—it's how we deal with those adversities that determine the measure of a man or woman. Jay Blake refused to be a victim of his circumstances. At a time when most people would have thrown themselves a pity party and curse their loss of sight, Blake decided to turn his tragedy into triumph. There is far too much hopelessness in the world today. Blake's story renews one's sense of the possibilities that exist and the optimistic persistence needed to make it happen.
