Steve: I don't think that would be a good idea. I know many New Yorkers and many Arizonans; to say that a clash of cultures would ensue is an understatement! (Although, on second thought, maybe if New Yorkzona were given a new language--say, French--and made to watch Miss Mathieu sing on huge public telescreens for at least 15 minutes every day, a new and better society could be synthesized out of the two old ones . . . you might just have something there.)

MMfanAZ: Perhaps you could handle it, though I suspect you'd say anything to get Mimi out there! I think, though, that we could do it better here in Florida. Heck, we've already got half of New York (the senior half) living in South Florida. And, as I've written so many times before, we've got the beaches and Mediterranean climate (and Arizona doesn't)!

@49181969 : This was filmed during one of a series of concerts at the Palais de Congress in1990. I am not surprised that she was unable to hit all the highs. Bearing in mind her style of singing and the songs that she sang at these concerts, I am amazed that she actually had a voice left to sing with.

Canougrimi. Je respecte Mireille Mathieu. Pourtant elle fait des erreurs dans les hauts. Et sa version de NY NY n'est pas costaud. La traduction est bonne.

Bravo, bien la p'tite Mireille, au moins quand elle chante on comprend ce qu'elle dit, c'est pas comme certains qui la critiquent et qui ne savent même pas mettre un mot devant l'autre sans bafouiller.
