HSUS wants a pet-free, vegan society which is unsustainable. Getting rid of domesticated animals, cats and dogs would be the downfall of humanity. That was attempted in Europe when the Catholic church condemmed cats as the  witches' familiar and had them slaughtered. Soon the rats were out of control and the Black Plague erupted-from fleas on rats.

HSUS promotes mandatory spay and neuter bills for dogs and cats in order to move these wonderful animals toward extinction.
