There are many means of separating mixtures in chemistry. One such method is not very common, but takes advantage of the magnetic properties of iron (and a few other elements) to extract it from mixtures. This clip shows iron being removed from a mixture of iron filings and sand.

  • @fucky0c0uch123 Kind of, it was a extra or random demonstration that I was going because we had some extra time. I was also filming this demonstration for a book publisher in the UK who had requested the use of some of my videos and had sent me a list of others they were looking for.

  • What kind of sand is this? tricked sandor sand took somewhere?
