@ryu8888 last thing: the only thing I have to apologize is that i misunderstood the english meaning of your first sentence about this video..in that sense you were right. But really i advise you not to judge a discipline by its website's image! they only used a "ninja" to be attractive, even if it has nothing to do with us...many others do it! Shu-Ha Ri are the phases of training....but these terms are included in the name himself, and it's not a casual choice.
@ryu8888 and what the majority of traditional schools don't have is a realistic approach to a fight...you can be a black belt karateka, or a 3th dan iaidoka, but if ever happens to be in a fight you can't do a perfect gracefull kata, but you have to end it as soon as possible! grace and beauty are foundamental, but are applicable only if you have a solid base of fighting mechanism...only at that point you can mix beauty of movements to a real fighting tecnicque
@ryu8888 you have no idea of what kenjitsu hasakido is...it has been founded by Master Michele Zannolfi in 1982, not just few years ago(you may confusing aimks with aimkai wich is a related dojo)...i thought exactly like you before entering in this academy, but then i saw what really is. they don't have such a great culture learning, but believe me, they know how to fight...it's not improvised MMA, it's the study of fighting...in it i found what kendo, iaido and some kenjutsu schools don't have
@Sarva07 Oh and "kenjutsu hasakido" is a FUCKING JOKE...Know how I know? a.) it's some sort of no-name martial art invented an italian or a portugese a couple years ago. b.) The only information about it comes from painfully OMG-I'M-A-NINJA-esque catalogues like aimks.it i mean goddamn just look at the "ninja" picture... c.) shu-ha-ri as you call it is a process of refining and mastery of a martial art... not part of a name.
@Sarva07 Yeeeeeahhhh... no. What point is punching someone in the face if after every punch you put your hands back in your fukin' pockets... I KNOW there are sheathing rituals, and i know there are iaijutsus... there's no point to that kind of hollywood esque showmanship...

This technique is called Iai or Iaigiri 『居合い斬り』, this is different from Kenjutu.
How quickly one uses ken is the main focus of this technique.
