Here's a short video of me doing reloading drills with my Smith & Wesson 625 JM and the excellent James Austin's Moon Clip Server for USPSA matches. First segment is at normal speed, 2nd is shot at 120 fps of a normal reload where you'd "guide" the bullets into the cylinder. The 3rd segment is a 120fps clip of the "throw" method where you'd literally toss the moonclip at the cylinder face and let the rounds drop in by itself. I wasn't too confident of that so i'd only throw it very close to the cylinder. Someone more experience would be able to throw it from a further distance.

If you're interested in getting the Moon Clip Server, send James an email at moonclipserver@comcast.net.

  • More detain o. The gun and loader, less crotch

  • @just4yutube then don't look. ;)

  • What is the difference between utilizing the moon clips compared to speed-loaders?

I have a S&W Model 19, any suggestions on a holster? I have a shoulder holster but I would like to get a regular on the hip holster....thanks!

  • @basslinger Moonclips only work with some revolvers that accepts them. It's a lot handier as all thr rounds are held in place by the moonclip, so everything goes into the gun as one, and ejects as one too. It's also easier if you want to retain all the brass cases after firing. Reloading using moonclips is generally seen as being much faster than a speed loader. I also believe that the moonclips is easier to carry than a speedloader.

  • @basslinger As for holsters, it depends on your need. if you're shooting for competition, then get a kydex style holster from Blade-tech or Safari land. If it's concealed carry, then checkout some really good leather IWB or pancake style holsters that keep the revolver close to your body. Some good ones are Bianchi, El Paso Saddlery ,Mitch Rosen and Milt Sparks.

  • Moon clips are the shiznit. So much faster than speed loaders.

  • this movie sucks as we cant see everything

  • can you load single rounds in the revolver and still use the ejector with out the moon clip?

  • Cow cumbersome.

  • The throw method seems faster but potentially could not be seated all the way when closing the cylinder. The guide method looks really smooth and sure. I like these practice videos. Keep it up!
