In the inaugural episode of "All About Bass," host Rich Lindgren and fishing buddy Josh Douglas attempt to catch a combined 20-pound limit of bass on opening day of Minnesota's 2009 bass season. In pt. 3, Rich and Josh offer more tips for fishing post-spawn bass, boat a dozen or so more "cookie cutter" 15-inchers, and Rich lands a 4-pound, 10-ounce hawg out of the slop. Again, the Ring Fry is the hot bait.
Lindgren, a Lakeville resident, fishes regional bass tournaments and writes fishing blogs, including his own "Rich's Bassin' Blog" (http://bassinblog.richlindgren.com/) and "Bassin Insider" for the Versus Channel's website (www.versuscountry.com/blogpage.aspx?bid=8). On May 31, he cashed a check in the Bassmasters Weekend Series Tournament on the Mississippi River's Pool 4, placing 12 in a field of 82 boaters, weighing a mixed bag of largemouth and smallmouth weighing 12.03 pounds.
Douglas fishes regional tournaments as well and guides (www.joshdouglasfishing.com). On May 31, he won a Bassmasters Weekend Series Tournament on the Mississippi River's Pool 4 with a winning weight of more than 15 pounds. The winning angler was guaranteed at least $5,000.
Lindgren will return throughout the fishing season to share tips and tactics for catching lunker bass in all open-water seasons under numerous conditions.
