  • can anyone tell me the link from where i can download all images for all devices used in GNS3.... kindly mail me at hammad-rasheed@hotmail.co.uk....

  • @SleepingPeace well its sorta a 50/50 sorta thing.

on the one hand packet tracer has nodes, switch, routers etc. gns3 well you have to find the images for the switches and routers and they are few and far between.

However, gns3 can accept a lot more commands then packet tracer so i guess it depends on your level in this field. now if gns had nodes and switches and routers all built in pre configured it would be one mean tool lol

  • @SleepingPeace Almost every function/command for switches learned in CCNA 3 work fine with Packet Tracer (even when the course says the int range command isnt supported, but that´s false), maybe the FTP transfering for the switch IOS doesnt work perfectly, but trunks, security, vlans, etc work pretty well

  • You can load real IOS's. The packet tracer IOS's don't include all of the functionality that is out there. For instance, I'm in a CCNP course, and half of the commands for OSPF aren't present in PT.
