@TheHolyWenzel how about the dendra armour that was created at about 1650-1100 BC? exellent choice of armour by the way,i love the freedom your gauntlets allow to your moves,the german gothic is the most impressive full plate in deed!

I once read that mail armors wwere invented after plates and actually offer better protection. Is that true?

often ignored by some historian, plate Armour was invented at ca. 1250 AD to protect the Body against Lancestrikes, Arrows and Bolts from the early Crossbows. These Weapons can penetrates a Coat of Mail. A Coat of Mail is more agile, of course. But a well-fitting solid plate Armour, indifferent its an early or an late model, protecting the Body against the the "really" deadly Stuff: piercing type Weapons.

@TheHolyWenzel dangerous for both, in my opinion. during our trainings, unless they are "for stage" (the fake but spectacular stuff you see in the movie) we always wear masks...
